Sam Adams Summer Ale | Boston Beer Co.

A summer beer by any other name wouldn’t be so sweet.  Sam Adams Summer Ale is synonymous with summertime in New England.  Much like the days of old when you were not so patiently waiting by the mailbox for the mail man to deliver the newest Batman comic book, Rifle and I eagerly look forward to the arrival of Sam Summertime.  It marks the end of the long dreary New England winter.  Don’t get us wrong all of  the Sam Adams seasonal offerings are great but there is just something about Sam Summer that says “OK people get out your flip flops and throw on a t-shirt and shorts; lets party!”

Most of our dedicated and faithful readers have probably tasted Sam Summer and may ask “Fatcat why ayuh talking about Sam Summah? Talk about a beeyah that we haven’t tried.  Going to Fenway Pahk this weekend for the sox and could use some of yah wicked good advise on a sixah fah tailgatin’.”  First I would say that my spell check just threw up on me.  Then I would say “Dude Sam Summah is wicked pissa. It’s got this stuff called grains of paradise that make the beeyah taste friggin’ awesome.  They add lemon zest to give it the signitcha Sam Summah flava.”  And that little exchange there marks the end of spell checking on my PC.

In all seriousness Sam Summer is a staple beer here along the sandy shores of Big D, in fact this weekend we are not picking up a sixer or a twelve pack or even a case.  We are going for a KEG.  Yes I know hardcore right, a keg for Rifle and I?  Well we are of course going to be sharing said Keg-O-Sam with family and friends to mark a special occasion here at tastedbeer.com.  Along with this officially being our 9th weekend tasting beer and blogging about it, we are rolling out our new logo designed by our artistically gifted friends at idesignyourlogo.com.  Check them out, they do some great work.

We wanted something serious yet fun, something that showed you who we are and what we are all about.  I think our new logo captures that perfectly.  It tells world “Fatcat and Rifle have arrived and we came to do two things.  Drink us some beer and kick some ass and we have plenty of beer.”

Tell us what you think of the new logo and go ahead pop open some summer with Sam Adams Summer Ale.
